Meet Lois and Zechariah
First Good Shepherd's K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry
Lois and Zechariah serve through the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. Their calm presence brings comfort, hope, and Christian care to people in schools, hospitals, community events, and other places where support is needed.
Lois
Lois has served First Good Shepherd and the Las Vegas community for many years. Her gentle nature helps people feel calm, begin conversations, and accept care during hard moments. Her experience and familiar presence continue to strengthen the Comfort Dog Ministry.

Zechariah
Zechariah is the ministry’s newest comfort dog. While he continues his training, he is already forming bonds within the congregation and community. He will carry this work forward as he grows into his role.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.”

Their presence gives volunteers a natural way to listen, offer prayer when welcomed, and share Christ’s compassion. Together, they connect First Good Shepherd with people throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Lois and her work in the Las Vegas valley
